Letters From a Nomad: The Road Here
A true story, arriving and unfolding one letter at a time.

The Story
The story begins in 1998, with the beautiful, magical Southern California psychedelic reality I once lived inside, and the changes that turned my world upside down and left me homeless and depressed in Venice Beach.
The opening letters move through:
- The luminous life before the road
- A beautiful, supportive relationship
- Monthly full moon gatherings in the desert
- A deeply soul-connected creative community
- The loss of that world, and sudden homelessness in LA
- A transformational dark night of the soul on mushrooms in a Venice Beach garage
- Burning Man 2003 as a threshold to a new life
- The surreal red double-decker bus ride north to British Columbia
- Staying with a friend’s family and working on a cannabis farm
- Life-changing experiences in an intentional community in the mountains of BC
- The beginning of a long raw foods journey
- A life lived more fully outside the expected path
From there, the story continues through movement, magic, intense beauty, difficulty, deep loss, freedom, solitude, meditation, authenticity, cats, vehicles, and places I lived and loved — Portland, Sedona, Mount Shasta, Santa Cruz, Miami, the Florida Keys, Asheville, Las Vegas, Colorado, deserts, mountains, forests, hot springs, intentional communities, and more — all eventually leading to here and now.
FAQ
What is Letters From a Nomad: The Road Here?
Letters From a Nomad: The Road Here is a 12 month serialized correspondence experience told through 24 beautiful and vulnerable letters, written as though they were mailed from the moments in which they happened.
Alongside the letters are thoughtfully designed printed companions that deepen the experience of each chapter and bring the story into your hands.
Twice each month, mailed on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, you receive the next chapter in a complete twelve-month correspondence series, true stories from my life delivered as beautifully designed physical mail.
I personally write and design everything that comes with each letter you receive, including the envelopes.
Do I start from the beginning?
Yes. Every subscriber begins with Letter #1.
The Road Here is a complete 12 month, 24 letter correspondence series designed to be experienced in order. Each letter builds on the last, revealing a true story with a beginning, a middle, and an end.
Does the story ever end?
The story does not end here, but this series does. The Road Here is a complete 12-month correspondence series consisting of 24 letters. When you reach the final letter, you’ll have experienced one complete era of my life.
If you’d like to continue walking beside me, two other branches in the road are on their way.
You’ll be able to step further back in time and experience my wild, chaotic, transformational, and deeply foundational years in New York in the 90s, told through another immersive correspondence series.
And after I leave Texas, you can join me in real time for European Adventures — a present-moment correspondence series written from the road as life unfolds.
Why letters?
Because some stories deserve more than a screen.
We spend so much of our lives scrolling, skimming, and moving on to the next thing. Letters invite something different. They ask us to slow down, hold a story in our hands, and spend time with it.
A beautifully written letter arrives with intention. It waits patiently until you're ready. You can read it in your favorite chair, tuck it into a book, return to it weeks later, and keep it for years.
In a world designed for speed and constant distraction, I believe some stories are worth experiencing more slowly.
Are these letters written from the past or the present?
The Road Here is written as though each letter were mailed from that particular moment in my life, from the perspective and understanding I had at the time.
Rather than looking back with decades of hindsight, you'll experience the story as it unfolded, one letter at a time.
The result is a slower, more immersive journey that feels less like reading a memoir and more like receiving letters from an old friend.
How does the Complete Series plan work?
The Complete Series lets you obtain all 24 letters of The Road Here with one payment of $180. You’ll save $36 compared with the Monthly plan — the equivalent of two months free — and there are no recurring charges.
Your letters will still arrive twice each month, beginning with Letter #1 and continuing in order through the twelve-month series. They are not mailed all at once. The story unfolds at the same thoughtful pace as it does for monthly subscribers.
If you ever need to pause delivery, just contact me. I’ll hold your remaining letters until you’re ready to continue.
Why does my Complete Series show as “Paused” in Subscription Management in my customer account?
The Complete Series is a prepaid, finite subscription. Our system will display it as Paused after the one-time billing schedule has been completed, even though your remaining letters are still active and scheduled.
You do not need to take any action. No further payments will be processed for the Complete Series, and all remaining letters will continue to be mailed as scheduled.
What is Founding pricing?
Be one of the first 100 Founding subscribers and receive The Road Here for $18 per month or $180 prepaid for the complete 24-letter series.
You'll keep your Founding price for the entire The Road Here series for as long as you remain subscribed, even if you pause your subscription at any point. And, receive special founding subscriber discounts to future Letters From a Nomad series.
Why isn’t the upcoming 1st or 3rd Wednesday mailing date available?
Mailing dates close at 11:59pm on the preceding Saturday, so I have enough time to prepare each order carefully. The calendar always shows the next dates currently available.
Do I have to pay shipping?
No. Shipping is included in your subscription price.
I want the experience to be as simple as possible. There are no surprise shipping charges added at checkout. Your subscription covers everything — from the design and printing to the packaging, postage, and delivery of each letter and its printed companions.
Do I have to pay sales taxes?
Currently, sales tax is charged only on orders shipped to Texas, where I am based. If that changes as the business grows, any applicable tax will always be calculated clearly during checkout.
Is this a good gift?
Yes, Letters From a Nomad: The Road Here would be a great gift for someone who loves:

- Travel, road life, and nomadic living
- Mindfulness and conscious living
- Slow, thoughtful experiences in this increasingly digital world
It is especially good for someone who values meaning over mass-produced gifts.
Can I pause my subscription?
Yes. You can pause the Monthly plan at any time through your customer account. You will not be charged again until you restart it.
If you purchased the Complete Series and need to pause delivery, just contact me. I’ll hold your remaining letters until you’re ready to resume.
Can I cancel?
Yes. You can cancel the Monthly plan at any time through your customer account. You will not be charged again after cancellation.
A Complete Series purchase may be canceled for a full refund before the first letter ships or within 30 days of the first letter’s ship date. Any letters already delivered are yours to keep.
Do you offer a money-back guarantee?
Yes. I want you to have enough time to actually receive a couple of letters and sit with them.
You have up to 30 days from your first letter ship date to decide whether The Road Here is right for you. If not, contact me and I’ll give you a full refund. You may keep any letters already delivered as my gift.
Will I receive tracking information?
There is no tracking on Letters From a Nomad mailings. Because they travel as First-Class Letters, they aren't individually tracked.
Why isn't every letter tracked?
Tracking letter mailings would significantly increase the subscription price. The letters travel as First-Class Mail — the same way personal correspondence has for generations. This helps keep the subscription affordable while preserving the experience of receiving real letters in your mailbox.

Meet the Life Behind the Letters
My name is Blue Cobalt. I'm a non-binary, neuro-spicy, zen, nomad at heart, raw foodie, cat servant, seahorse steward, filmmaker, artist, and sustainable fashion designer.
Letters From a Nomad comes from a life I have actually lived — years in vehicles, desert mornings, raw meals on the road, cats curled into tiny homes, spiritual searching, creative work, deep loss, beauty, transformation, and the long practice of becoming more honestly myself.
I am not writing this as fiction, fantasy, or a themed subscription assembled from the outside.
These letters are drawn from real places, real experiences, and the road that shaped me — written as though each one were coming from an old friend, mailed from the moment in which it happened.
Each mailing is created, designed, and sent with care, as an invitation to walk through the story with me, one letter at a time.
